All I'm asking for is a DVD release from kokuritsu. and possibly Dream A Live too. damn greedy fangirl. I watched the news clips of last night's concert and I want to cry, because just those few minutes of clips were so amazing! I love the yellow/black outfits, with the neon yellow shoes. XD Aiba-chan ripping his pants...losing and having to jump into the water tank...the platforms going up to the olympic flame...they changed colors for One Love...I want to see it all.
There HAS to be a DVD!!! *prays some more*
And that towel that Jun has around his shoulders, they should really sell it as con goods. I want one!
May 31st
My first Arashi concert!
I have a pretty bad memory, but I will try my best to write down the things that struck out the most ne! Sorry it’s not very in-depth in terms of costume, stage position, member position, ect. You can probably get it from someone who was more attentive to detail. ^^; And it might be kind of Jun-centric, as most of the time I’m looking for/at him and not the other members. hahaha
Pre-con, they showed clips from 24hr TV, HYDF, Yattaman, Dream A Live album, and other promos that I forgot.
Near the start of the con, the energy in the air was electrifying!! You could really feel the excitement, it’s something I’ve never experienced before. You really can’t get the same feeling from a con dvd…only at the concert itself can you feel this energy. The place was packed, and everyone was anticipating the start of the con. The lights went out and KYAAA!!! Everyone got up and screamed! Penlights came on, and we stayed on our feet until the MC.
I don’t remember the setlist, so I’m going by the setlist HERE
This vox has the MCs for both Nagoya and Osaka, so take a look if you’re interested. ;) I didn’t want to be a bother to K-san to translate everything for me, so I was a bit lost during the MCs. This blog really helped me understand what they talked about.
I might skip some songs…not because they weren’t good, but because nothing out of the ordinary happened.
Intro dance, it was Aiba-chan, Nino, Jun, Ohno, and Sho. They showed up one at a time on different parts of the stage. The spotlight shined on one, then went out, then shined on another member. Each of their back up songs and dance were different, pertaining to their solo.
Move Your Body was an awesome first song! It got everyone even more hyped up. Jun said the ‘break down’ part in the middle. OMG his voice is sooo sexy!!! XDD Just those 2 words and I start melting.
Life Goes On they do this funny arm wave movement during the chorus. I started giggling but followed along anyway. XD The end of Life Goes On, they formed a circle and put their hands in on top of each other. Great transition into Step and Go. ^^ Go watch the perf if you don’t know what I’m talking about.
Member greetings, the usual from each member. It was soooo great to finally be able to answer to their calls. Jun’s ‘YEAH!’ Oh-chan’s ‘HIIII!’ Nino’s ‘Irrashiamasse!’ Aiba-chan’s ‘YEAH!’ Sho’s ‘say ARASHI!’
Love Parade. They came out on those huge floats and those ugly costumes. XD I was watching the screen a lot and I couldn’t tell who came after who. I’m sure that Jun was 1st, followed by Nino. I don’t know about the other 3. ^^;; Gomen ne! [Kao said] Nino sang something about ‘so what if you’re a flower. It’s not something to be embarrassed about’ and everyone laughed. XD Because, he was on that flower float, and was wearing a flowery type costume. When they got to the back, they sang Love So Sweet, and Nino’s float had hydrolics that lifted him up on this flower and it looked really cute.
Everybody Zenshin we did the arm movements for this and we all looked like soldiers. XD
Carnival Night pt 2. C-A-R-N-I-V-A-L NIGHT! Super genki song with lots of bright rainbow colors.
Take Me Faraway. BEAUTIFUL singing by Riida. Not a dropped note, just pure perfection. I can listen to that man sing for hours. His outfit was a little Michael Jackson-ish, gold and black. The screen was split into 5 sections, and during the first half of the song, there was a video of him dancing against a white background. It started on the first panel, then they made it look like he stepped/jumped into the next panel, then the next. Genius. The second half they showed him dancing live. Words can’t describe how beautiful his singing was. Just perfect.
Hip Pop Boogie. It was quiet after Ohno’s solo, then these 2 Jrs appeared in hip hop gear and a cassette player. They pushed the button, and Sho’s song started. ^___^ He was on the moving stage. Near the beginning, the other members appeared on video on the split screen. The 5 panels were Sho live, Oh-chan, Jun, Nino, Aiba-chan. Starting from ‘kono mentsu de’, the 4 other members did the ‘yeah’ ‘yeah’ and ‘world is mine’ part and they were acting really silly and cute. I missed it the first day, but the second day I was ready for it! Kao claims that Nino was the cutest, but I have to say it was definitely Jun. XD Sho’s choreography looked like it was really difficult, and it reminded me of Jun’s pop dance from All or Nothing days.
Flashback started with Nino sitting by himself at a table for 2. Aiba-chan came and tapped him on the shoulder and they moved away from the middle. Then a girl appeared at the table, and a Jr also came out, and he offered her a ring (I think?) and they walked off the stage. The beginning of the song sounded kinda bad, because it was a Jun/Nino duet and Jun’s voice…overpowered Nino’s in a bad way. >_< Sho came out in time for his part and they all did a slow dance with a female partner. Ahh those lucky girls.
(*random* If rumors came out that one of the members was seeing a female dancer, I’d be really pissed. What was Johnny thinking, giving Arashi female dancers? I don’t mind girlfriend rumors, but let them find g/fs somewhere else and not while they are rehearsing. It’s like giving them the opportunity to get with one of the girls. :\ Have you heard of an artist dating a dancer and it was a happy ending? I’ll shut up for now and hope that it doesn’t happen.)
They had on these dark blue sparkly suits for Flashback, and they kept the suits for Sirius. They looked so preeeettyyy. ^_^ There is a pic of it in the live photo set.
Sirius is my favorite song from DAL, so this perf was a thrill to watch. They each stood on platforms that went up and down while they were singing. Jun’s solo was sung PERFECTLY! It was on key, powerful, and beautiful. ^________^ It’s my favorite part of the song.
Hello Goodbye. Aiba-chan’s solo is sooo cute. XD Very Aiba-like, genki and happy. I loved the hand movement when he sang ‘hello goodbye’. Really cute. He also played the harmonica. ^_^ At the end, he stood still, and he had this smirk on his face that I think only I saw it. lol. It was cool/sexy and it made me think that Aiba-chan can be very Do-S with this expression. Sorry, I can’t really explain it. Maybe Aiba fans know what I’m talking about?
We Can Make It. Jun sang the first lines of this song, right? His voice was really SEXY and it made me go doki-doki.
MC. Something about Riida not understanding baseball. XD And Aiba-chan has a baseball team. See HERE for the MC talk.
OHMIYA SK. LMAO cute! At one part, Yuji (Nino) had Taka’s (Ohno) legs on his waist, and Taka had his hands on the floor. Then Yuji spun Taka around a few times and let him go. XDD They did the Mikoshi dance. It ended ‘Ohmiya SK jya nai’ it’s ‘Ohmiya SKOSHI’ LOL! Then they did the cannon gag, talked about some stuff, and went back inside.
Sho, Jun, and Aiba-chan came out and talked some more, promoting Sho and Jun’s movies. [Kao told me later that] Sho said that he got to eat at nice restaurants because of the Olympics thing, and Aiba-chan said he wanted to go too. Jun scolded him and pushed him away from Sho, and he told Aiba-chan to go eat with the animals (doubutsuen). XDD Nakimushi love! Aiba-chan kinda bowed and he looked really embarrassed. XDD
Caterpillar movie on screen. I loved the beginning when the circles lined up. Blue, red, purple, and then yellow and green fought for 4th position. Yellow won the spot, and green had to go last. XD Everyone clapped along with the music.
Caterpillar lights grew, and Arashi appeared on top, hanging on wires. Cool orange outfits. ^_^
Sakura Sake was LOVE. It’s my 2nd favorite Arashi song (after Yes? No?) I was really lost in the moment and kinda forgot to do the hand movements. lol Sakurap was SUGOI!
Fight Song they were really playing around more than singing, which was fine with me. Seeing them having fun on those wires was refreshing. Everyone was spinning except our dear scaredy-cat Sho. XDD
They came down for Wish.
Gimmick Game. How can Nino be sexy? Watch the perf and you can’t deny that Nino, contrary to popular belief, CAN BE SEXY! Girls screamed everytime he showed his neck. The last part, instead of singing the last line, he stuck 2 fingers in his mouth and wiped it on his neck making a criss-cross. KYYAAAAA!!!
Naked. How fitting for this song to come after Nino’s. XD Jun was in all white, and barefoot. He had female dancers with him, and the dance was beautifully done. Think sophisticated Momo dance. The moving stage lifted up and there were white sheets connected to it and it was like he was floating on clouds. Then the dancers covered him up with white sheets, and he came up…NAKED! Well, from the waist up. XDD Major heart attack!! He was wearing the white pants, but you could see the red underwear over his black undies. Red and black, I tell you! When you watch the big screen, the camera deliberately filmed him from the waist up, so it looked like he was really naked. XDD~~
Green is a nice song. Pretty to listen to. It sounded like a Thai-pop song to me. I don’t know why.
Dancers and MAD intro by Sho
Members intro. Aiba-chan introduced Jun, who camwhored and stuck his finger in his mouth and made fans scream. Ohno was introduced and he did the thing where he only moved one eyeball and it was creepy. Nino did a card trick, changing one card into another. Some audience played along and went ‘oohhh’ while others laughed because it wasn’t really a magic trick. XD Aiba-chan did 2-3 flips, and (I think) pretended to fall and everyone went ‘awww’. Sho rapped ‘hip hop da hipit da hip...’ you know, the one from his solo.
Hadashi no Mirai. I love this song! Reminds me of Momo. XD Everyone doing the furi for this at the same time was sugoi!! All hands went up, then in front, etc etc. It was an amazing sight.
Oh Yeah! Tension UP for this song! I really wanted to jump, but we couldn’t because we’d break the dome. >_<
Your Song. They let the audience sing the last part of ‘lalalalala’ and turned the music down. Arashi stood on the stage and listened to us sing. Their faces SHINED with happiness, especially Jun. You could tell how touched they were to hear us sing so loudly. For those few seconds, it was just us singing for them, and then the echo came from the other side, and it was beautiful. When we were done, Jun yelled ‘Arigato!’
They left the stage and we yelled ‘Arashi’
Encore, MAD re-intro and they held hands and ran to the front of the stage. Hi-fives as they left the stage.
Arashi lined up, and Jun hesitated a bit, pretending to forget what to say, and then asked for their name…we yelled ARASHI! They bowed and exited.
More yelling. ARASHI ARASHI ARASHI. They guy came out on the stage and started telling us which seats get to exit first. We didn’t pay attention and kept yelling.
They came out in the pastel colored outfits and sang One Love. Pretty song, very catchy. I think that I could learn it easily when it’s romanized. Jun had a solo and he sang it very nicely. ^^
They said goodbye and went inside. We yelled for them some more, and it seemed like it lasted forever! My throat hurt, and couldn’t breath, but I didn’t stop yelling. K-san didn’t stop, so I didn’t stop. XD I thought I was going to die. I remember thinking that if I die, and my last word was used to yell for Arashi, that it would be fine. XDDD So I yelled some more. The announcer guy came out again, and a lot of people started to leave. I gave them dirty looks but kept yelling. XD
They FINALLY came out and sang Pikanchi Double! K-san told me later that she didn’t think they were going to come out, and she was so surprised that they did. ^_____^ They sang, said thank you, and bye bye, and left. The concert was really over. :(
K-san had gone to the Osaka con and she said that the tension at Nagoya was much higher than Osaka. ^___^ I think that Arashi felt it too, because they all looked really happy when they saw us doing the furi and singing along. I think at one point someone (maybe it was Jun) said something about the tension being sugoi. XD
Can I just say that I love every single moment of Jun camwhoring? He’d wink, smile, laugh, do anything that would make the audience go KYAAAAA. I loved it. XDD
Even though we had bad seats, I still thoroughly enjoyed my first Arashi concert. Just being there was an amazing experience.
Hai! That’s it for first day report. Sorry it’s so long. I wrote this on ms word, and it was 5 pages. O_o I haven’t written Day 2 yet, but it will be shorter because everything was basically the same, except for Sho’s injury.
I wanted to give the con report one full post without the other stuff, so here is the other 'stuff'
May 31st
We went early to the dome to queue for con goods. I don’t really know what time it was, because I wasn’t wearing a watch. lol. We were in line for about 10 mins when it started to rain. :( I wasn’t planning to buy that much stuff, because the goods this year weren’t as good as the other times, but when I saw the panel of con goods, I immediately wanted EVERYTHING. XD
GOODS
I ended up buying clearfile (group), official photo set (group), live photo set (all 6 sets), pamphlet, pen light, uchiwa (all but Nino), and eco bag. Seriously, if Nino hadn’t looked so terrible on his uchiwa, I would have bought it. I got Teja’s stuff too. ^_^ I heard something about a book sale, but it wasn’t there. I don’t know if they were sold out, or what? I looked back after I bought my stuff, and the line for goods had gotten suuuuuppperr long and I was glad we got there early. :D We walked to the booth selling cds and dvds, and they had a nice assortment of titles. I decided to grab the Iza Now con dvd since I had been meaning to buy it for a long time. Now I have my own official copy! All that’s left is the HIG con dvd, which I will buy after I’ve saved up some more money.
SEATS
We stuffed all our goods inside Kao’s little suitcase and went to get some food at the mall next to the dome. Then we went inside and separated to get to our seats. Apparently Kao and CK got good seats. I went with Kao’s friend (who from now on will be called K-san) and we had nosebleed seats. We had to take the escalator to the 5th floor! We were in the middle of the highest level of seats, near stage left. We were so far away that when they came around to the side, we couldn’t even see them beneath us. T_T But at least we were close to the stage and the big screen, which was a big help. ^^; I ended up watching the big screen most of the night.
After the first couple of songs, I realized that they couldn’t see me or my uchiwa anyway, so I put them all away. lol

On a side note, I got my copy of the limited edition of 5x5 The Best Selection of 2002-2004. XDD The dvd with all the pvs are every fan's dream, and I could look at that booklet all day. Thank you sooooo much to savoy-truffle for giving me the link to order it. You saved my wallet. ;) I would give minna the link, but unfortunately, I just checked that website, and it's all sold out now. Sorry guys. :(

Arashi Around Asia DVD releasing May 23rd!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I've wished over and over for this, and it's finally here!!! I am SO getting the limited edition one. ^_^ Money is flying out the window, but I DON'T CARE! I just want to see Jun's face and sexy body in his solo. And Arashi's super cool singing and dancing. And the Arashi crack during the MC. And the touching. And the rabu rabu. 200 minutes (plus an extra 120 minutes on bonus dvd) of Arashi heaven.
